The eternal waiting-game!

Yes, you guessed it: we’re back home from the hospital and there’s still no baby :P

We arrived at the hospital 20 minutes before our appointment, and a nurse sent us straight to a room where I was told to lay down on my side and got strapped with devices to do a CTG-test (measures the baby’s heart-rate and movement). We were told they would run the test for 30 minutes, and then the nurse left.

After an hour, we were still by ourselves, listening to the constant beating of Adrian’s heart (mostly 135 beats per minute, but it ranged from 110 to 170). It appeared that they’d forgotten about us, and since I was starting to struggle to keep control of my over-filled bladder, Tony went out to get the nurse. She came in, unstrapped me and I could go pee. It was heaven ;P

After my toilet-break, we met up with a really sweet girl-doctor. She told us that the results of the CTG-test were perfect, and far better then what was normal 13 days after the baby’s due. We then proceeded with an ultrasound, that told us that he’s about 3.600 grams, 34 cm in diameter around his head (97mm from ear to ear), I have a lot of amniotic fluid and he’s definitely a boy ;P Perfect results again! Then she needed to check my uterus - it was not pleasant - but it showed that I’m dilated with 2 cm, so something has started at least!

They were very busy at the hospital today, and since everything’s as great as it is, she didn’t want to proceed with the induction just yet. The plan now is for us to call back tomorrow morning, and if they’re less busy by then, then we’ll get the process started. Unless something happens on it’s own before we get that far!

So more waiting for us. How fun ;P

Good thing Adrian is in good shape! :) Did they see any contractions on the CTG? The stripping might induce labour, so let’s hope it’ll start on its own ;)

There were some tiny contractions, but I’ve been having false contractions for months. It’s probably not more then that – the doctor said I’d KNOW when there were actual contraction ;P I’m hoping it’ll start on it’s own, that would of course be the best :)
